[April 18 – May 17 For Experienced Paddlers] 110-minute Canadian Canoe Tour in the Submerged Forest of Lake Shirakawa. This is an experience-level canoe tour in the submerged forest of Lake Shirakawa. Only for a short period in spring, melting snow raises the water level of the lake, creating a beautiful submerged forest. This tour takes you by Canadian canoe deep into the forest, beyond areas visible from the park. You will glide between trees, feeling a strong connection with nature and the excitement of exploration. A guide accompanies the tour, allowing you to enjoy the experience safely and with confidence. Photos taken during the tour will be provided as digital data. This tour is recommended for guests with prior canoe or kayaking experience. Basic paddling skills and canoe control are required. ■Canoe seating Normally, canoes are shared by two people. If the number of participants is odd, a three-person canoe may be used. Changes after this deadline will be treated as cancellations. Check-in will begin 5 minutes before your scheduled start time. Please note that the meeting point is not Shirakawaso, so kindly ensure you come to the correct location. During holiday periods, traffic congestion is expected. We strongly recommend allowing extra travel time. As this tour is conducted in a group setting with other guests, we are unable to delay the schedule. If you arrive after your reserved time, your booking will be treated as a cancellation and no refunds will be issued. Prefectural Route 378 from the Kitakata City direction is closed for the winter and is not passable. 2. Prefectural Route 8 from the Oguni Town direction is closed for the winter and is not passable. 3. The main road to the Submerged Forest, “Nakatsugawa Bridge,” was closed until April 17, but it is now open to traffic. ■Parking Information Please note that a parking fee will be charged from April 18th to May 17th.
