Balloon flight experience in Yamagata, famous for its sea of clouds

Mt. Jūbunichi, Nanyo City (June–December / Sundays) Enjoy a breathtaking hot air balloon experience at Mt. Jūbunichi in Nanyo City, overlooking the Okitama Basin. On clear days, you can see Yonezawa City, vast rice fields, and the surrounding 2,000-meter-class mountain ranges, including Iide, Azuma, and Asahi. In autumn, a beautiful sea of clouds often appears below. The balloon is tethered to the ground and rises approximately 15–20 meters. Floating gently above the landscape offers a truly extraordinary experience. ▪️We offer two participation styles: Participation Options 1) Full Participation (Hands-on Experience) Join the pilot from preparation to packing up. Help spread out the 200kg+ balloon Attach carabiners Set up the gas system Witness the important burner test Enter inside the colorful balloon before inflation (photo opportunity) This is a team experience — lifting the balloon together is something no one can do alone. Duration: approximately 1–2 hours including breaks If conditions are excellent, a bonus second flight may be offered. Limited to the first 20 participants. 2) Flight Only Standard balloon ride experience. Boarding order is based on reception order. Actual flight time: approximately 5 minutes. After your flight, you are free to leave. ▪️Start Time Start times vary depending on sunrise: June–September: from 5:30 AM October–December: from 6:30 AM ▪️Weather & Operation Balloon flights cannot operate in rain or strong winds. If wind speed exceeds 3 m/s or weather conditions are unsafe, the event will be canceled. We will send a confirmation email between 12:00–1:00 PM on the day before the event to inform you whether the flight will operate. Even within the same reservation time, some participants may not be able to fly due to changing conditions. ▪️Cancellation & Refund Policy If the organizer cancels due to weather or safety reasons, a full refund will be issued automatically to your credit card. Depending on your card company, it may take 1–2 months to process. Cancellations due to personal reasons or late arrival will incur cancellation fees according to the policy. ▪️Participation Requirements Anyone in good health may participate (from infants to adults). Those with a fear of heights are welcome if willing to try. If you have health concerns, please consult us in advance. Solo participants are welcome. Balloon rides are shared with 3–5 people. ▪️Clothing Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Occasionally, condensation from the burner may drip. Temperatures can vary significantly between early morning and daytime, even in summer. Warm clothing is recommended. ▪️Flight Details Maximum height: approximately 20 meters (depending on conditions) Time in the air: about 5 minutes (may vary) ▪️Event Flow Reception Balloon ride in order of check-in Photo opportunities before and after your flight Flight-only participants may leave freely after boarding Boarding order is determined by reception order, but may be adjusted for weight balance. Minimum Participants Minimum 10 participants required. If the minimum is not met 3 days before the event, cancellation notice will be sent by email. Pet Participation Dogs may join under the following conditions: Pet Option: JPY 1,000 (Under 20kg / One dog per adult) For 2 or more dogs per person, or dogs over 20kg: Private charter required – JPY 20,000 (1–4 people) Please note: Dogs may be startled by burner flames and loud sounds. Owners are fully responsible for their pets. No insurance is provided for pets. Harnesses or slings should be brought at the owner's discretion. Even for private charters, staff other than the pilot may board for safety reasons. ▪️Changes & Cancellation One free date change is allowed up to 4 days before the event at 5:00 PM.
